So here we are again.
That time of the semester when every student magically transforms into a scholar, philosopher, and full-time note-maker — all in one week.
Yes, my exams are just 6 days away.
And no, I don’t have proper notes yet.
Why? Because for some reason, I believed that future me would handle it all.
Spoiler: he’s not handling it very well.
Chapter 1: Notes? Haan haan... kal banayenge.
Let’s be honest — all semester, I sat in class with the look of deep concentration. Like I'm decoding some genius-level science.
In reality, I was either sleepy, daydreaming, or mentally writing my next blog.
I’d look at slides and think,
"I'll make the notes later. Pakka."
That “later” finally knocks on my door when the exam timetable arrives like a horror movie jump scare.
Chapter 2: The Pen Panic Begins
The moment I hear "exam after 6 days," I suddenly remember every unit I ignored.
I open my biochemistry book with shaky hands and whisper to myself,
"Tu kar lega bhai... bas 6 din hain."
I start writing notes like a topper.
Page 1: clean, pretty handwriting.
Page 2: still okay.
Page 3: handwriting becomes ECG lines, there are arrows everywhere, some random quotes in margins like: “Stay strong, glycolysis is just a phase.”
Then comes the inevitable break.
That break becomes a nap.
The nap becomes so long, even my notes started aging.
Chapter 3: The YouTuber Strikes
Now here’s the funny part.
While normal students revise quietly, I suddenly feel the need to record the whole unit for my YouTube channel.
Yes, I record lectures.
Yes, I explain concepts with examples, diagrams, energy.
And yes... I only have 160 subscribers.
And maybe 4 to 5 views per video. π
But guess what?
Teaching helps me understand better. Even if no one watches, I do it for me — and maybe one day, it’ll help someone else too.
Chapter 4: The Google Marathon
No exam prep is complete without me Googling things like:
-
"Difference between catabolism and anabolism"
-
"Easy explanation of oxidative phosphorylation"
-
"Can I pass biochemistry in 6 days?"
I copy, summarize, rephrase, and finally write it down like I’ve known it for years.
Chapter 5: Chaos, But Make It Productive
It’s officially Day 7. I’ve been telling myself, “Just two more pages and I’ll finish this chapter” for the past four hours. Good news? I’m on Chapter 3 and just a few paragraphs away from wrapping up one whole subject — which honestly deserves a medal. Bad news? There are still three entire subjects waiting for me like angry relatives at a wedding — arms crossed, eyes rolling. I keep flipping pages as if I’m solving world hunger, but my brain? It's somewhere between “What is ATP?” and “Should I eat Maggi or cry?”
Time is running faster than my motivation, and every time I open another unit, it feels like unlocking a new boss level in a game I never signed up for. But hey, I tell myself — one subject down (almost), three to go. We move. Sort of. Maybe after another coffee break... or two.
The Lesson?
If you’re someone who studies last minute — you're not alone.
If you’re someone who makes notes after the syllabus is over — welcome to the club.
And if you’re someone who records biochemistry lectures at 2 AM for your tiny YouTube audience — you’re doing amazing, sweetie.
At the end of the day, we may procrastinate, panic, and start late...
But we show up. We revise. We try.
And we pass — one glycolysis at a time.
Until the next semester rush,
Biochemically yours,
Yawar (aka the late-night note-maker and part-time YouTuber)
